This is a vibrant and joyful Brunello di Montalcino from the southwestern sector. It features ripe, sometimes candied fruit, fine-cured spices, tobacco, roots, and cocoa beans. Vigna Spuntali is known for its rich, almost luxurious aroma in classic vintages. This expressive character is matched by a smooth, creamy texture on the palate. It's complemented by a dense structure, generous alcohol content, and soft tannins. As the most expansive of the Val di Suga crus, it's supported by rich fruit and a robust, sapid texture during long bottle maturation. Supple palate, light and fine-grained tannins, to enhance the harmonious salty and mineral overtones.

From a site with schistic galestro clay soils, the 2019 Brunello di Montalcino Poggio al Granchio is definitely the most complete and complex of these new releases from 2019 by Val di Suga. Fruit comes from an 18-hectare vineyard located at 430 to 450 meters in elevation. The wine offers more oozing richness and concentration in line with the character of the vintage with sweet cherry, blackberry, toasted cumin seed and pressed rose. This estate does a good job of maintaining the freshness of Sangiovese. Some 12,000 bottles were made.
